Pastel workshop with the renowned artist Steve McCall.
Steve will be presenting a half day workshop based on landscape.
Amongst other things he will discuss underpainting techniques, controlling tone and contrast and what it takes to create interesting compositions to bring your landscapes alive.
Steve is an award winning artist and currently president of the Bright Art Gallery. He is represented in many private collections. His pastel workshops are always popular and it is an honour to have him present his workshop at Shades of Art.
When – Wednesday, December 4 from 10am- 3pm (approximately).
Times – Arrive at Shades of Art at 9.30 to set up, start at 10am, lunch at about 1 pm for 30 min, complete the session with a ‘show-and –tell’ at about 3pm and pack up.
Cost : $40.00 some materials supplied
for 4 hours workshop, plus 30 minutes lunch break
Materials – bring your own materials or purchase at the shop. Workshop participants are offered a 10% discount. Tables, easels, etc, provided. See the ‘what to bring’ list.
Inspirational Resources – students should bring a photo of a landscape to work from. This should preferably be a photo taken by themselves with a good range of tonal contrasts: from dark to light. Photos with a limited tonal range tend to inspire dull art work.
